How do you lose weight?

I would like to re-emphasize that a good weight loss programme should have diet changes, change in lifestyle and fitness workouts.

My Story:-

Until a few years back, I was slim and trim. Then I put on weight and became fat. None of my clothes would fit me, and I started feeling not so good about myself. My self-esteem went low, and I desperately wanted to lose at least 10 kgs. I made a strong determination to lose 10 kgs and started working towards it. I would love to share the tips with you all here.

Here is what I did to lose weight-

i)I reduced my intake

I switched away from eating 4 chapatis to 2 chapatis for lunch plus one bowl of vegetables, a little salad plus one serving of dal.By eating less, your stomach gradually shrinks and requires a less quantity of food. Gradually my stomach shrank, and now my stomach requires a less quantity of food than before

ii)Negligible consumption of oil

Oil is the main culprit which contains a lot of calories. I started consuming only 2-3 teaspoons a day. I avoided fried food

iii)No sweets

Sugar contains a lot of calories and by avoiding sugar I quickly had weight loss. Besides me, there is a friend of mine who lost 2 kgs in a month by just not taking sugar in tea and avoiding sweets. If you go null in oil and sugar, there’s no way you cannot lose weight.

iv)Exercises

Every single day I went to the gym and did cardio and weight training.

v)I ate only when hungry

Many times earlier; I used to stuff myself with food just because it was lunch or dinner time for me, although I used to be not hungry. By doing this, I bloated. I then started eating only when hungry and I continue doing so.

Within 5-6 months, I lost 10 kgs.

Maintenance of weight

It is also very necessary to maintain your weight once you lose it. If you lose weight and then go binging on food, then you will again gain weight. Also, for maintaining your weight, you must continue exercising. If you cannot exercise, at least do some walking.

After losing 10 kgs, I started feeling awesome and happy. My self-esteem became high and I was able to fit myself into my old clothes. I also work towards maintaining my weight.
